Studio1248 is home to the Purple Martin Gallery, which is a mobile gallery.  Students work with artists to create paintings that we are proud to hang in local businesses and in other Studio1248 galleries (eventually). 
     The picture used on this site as tiles or section headers are from our gallery at 6th St., which has over 50 pieces and counting. Each one is registered with Varsity Mentors (our parent nonprofit) and then placed in microschools or local businesses.
     It is important to note that for the most part, the designs for the paintings are developed by Studio1248 artists, not students. Students are paired with artists and work to complete the painting as an assistant. However, the student and the artist both sign the painting. If a painting is sold, the student who signed the painting will receive 10% of the sale.
